Brief biography of Sandy Cornish

Sandy Cornish (Sandra Lee Barrett Cornish) has been researching genealogy since 1977 after her son was born and his baby book needed to be filled in. Her father’s family was from Virginia with the earliest proven ancestor settling in Charles City County in 1635.

Sandy is a member of a number of lineage/heritage societies. Currently she is the Chapter President of the Lady Jane Sewall Chapter Colonial Dames Seventeenth Century, Registrar of the Port Tobacco Chapter Daughters of the American Revolution, Incoming President of The Ark and The Dove Chapter Daughters of the American Colonists, Treasurer of the Col. Richard Thomas Zarvona Chapter United Daughters of the Confederacy, Corresponding Secretary Maryland State Daughters of the American Colonists, Parliamentarian  for Maryland State Society United States Daughters of 1812 and Parliamentarian for the Maryland Division United Daughters of the Confederacy. She is a Past President of Maryland Division United Daughters of the Confederacy, Maryland State Society United States Daughters of 1812 and Maryland State Society Colonial Dames Seventeenth Century.

She retired from the Charles County Circuit Court, where her favorite job was performing marriage ceremonies.
